“With five performers, the couple Gdaniec / Cantalupo has built a mind-blowing choreography in which crazy consumption and its techniques of attraction express themselves during superb duos with voluptuous curves and acrobatic dance sequences on a tempo which grows faster and faster. As usual with Linga, the bodies exult and the dancers show and electrifying energy”. – Corinne Jaquiéry “24 heures”, Switzerland
„Whether we like it or not, we are all consumers. But is there a way out? Compagnie Linga and its directors K. Gdaniec and M. Cantalupo take another bite at socio-political issues in their last creation, « emballe-moi » (wrap me up)…” – Bruce Michelson “Dance Europe”, Great Britain
“emballe-moi” (wrap me up) Advertising, this disproportionate social phenomenon, reveals a cynical idea, which transforms the world into merchandise. The message, constantly repeated, is clear: consumption is the solution to all problems. Merchandise is the center and the meaning of life, the (super) market – its temple. With this new piece the choreographers and the five performers throw a light on the seducing techniques of this system – advertising – at the service of “the consumer society” “emballe-moi” (wrap me up) explores with humor the conditioning of mankind to this dominant ideology – in an urge of a change.
