Body Architects _ House beating

Body Architects interpret the concepts of modernist architecture and transform them into an eclectic performance. The athletic choreography uses a unique language of partnering movement, fused with street dance and the search for inherent architecture of the body. Virtuosic physical constructions emerge in dialogue with an organically changing art installation. The materials of the body and wood undergo constant manipulation, together creating a temporary spatial structure. The original musical score is inspired by the compositions of Xenakis and Cage for percussion, and serves as the driving force of the performance.

Body Architects is an Austrian artistic group specializing in performances at the intersection of dance and visual arts. The group consists of body artists integrating contemporary dance, partnering, and breakdance, as well as contemporary musicians and visual artists. They have a number of successful artistic projects to their name, including choreographic works (House Beating, B-Team, Life Below Water) and film projects (They Feel Like Home). Additionally, the group is involved in numerous activities to support and educate the emerging scene (performative platform “Craft Choreography,” “Mind Culture Podcast,” European projects “Viral Visions” and “Playing Bodies”).
