„RE//accumulation” is a part of series of dance commissions entitled “RE//MIX” , which was initiated in 2010 by a Polish interdisciplinary artistic organization called Komuna//Warszawa.
Ramona Nagabczyńska chose to remix the work of American post-modern dance pioneer Trisha Brown, particularly focusing on Accumulation- one of Trisha Brown’s most notorious pieces and at the same time a revolutionary piece for the development of dance in general. The dancer creates a unique archive of movement through the long-term process of accumulating bodily quotations. These quotations can be taken directly from their author or be a processed version of them
The performance draws attention to the similarity between accumulation as a choreographic idea and accumulation as the most important actor in the process of acquiring knowledge by the body. The dancer creates a unique archive of movement through the long-term process of accumulating bodily quotations. These quotations can be taken directly from their author or be a processed version of them.
