„reality warping” is Jasmine’s newest work, having premiered in Munich this June before featuring in the 2023 Sommerszene festival, Salzburg.
As our survivalist ability to adapt grapples with AI and our own digital persona – we dance – we sing – we interface with augmented reality… the dissonance between reality, perception and social construct is challenged by playful wonder. All enveloping and sensory overloading, this work calls on the audience to examine our relationship with the digital world and each other.
Jasmine Ellis is a Canadian choreographer and award–winning film director based in Munich. Examining the human condition in global societies through choreography and dance film, her uncategorised approach to movement, body language, text and music is the basis of her artistic approach in which humour, vulnerability and familiarity are woven together to create unexpected worlds. Jasmine’s substantial body of critically acclaimed work ranges from artist-to-artist collaborations to company productions.
