For the new solo Resistance Movement Maciej Kuźmiński works closely with a refugee dancer from Ukraine Daria Koval, documenting her experience of war in voice and movement.
For me this work is very important, because I wanted to tell about the war from my own perspective and share my personal story, says Daria Koval. Her intention coincided with the one of Maciej Kuzminski, who, by his own words, felt that after symbolic Every Minute Motherland, he should also appeal to “a direct statement from a concrete person, because war is not abstract and affects real individuals”
Since its premiere, The Resistance Movement has been performed over 30 times in 7 countries. Winning 9 awards, including the main ones at Masdanza and Solo Dance Contest, Ruch Oporu became Kuźmiński’s most awarded work today.

VANDEUTEKOM Collective – étude des hommes
In “étude des hommes” Van Deutekom explores, accompanied by two female dancers from her collective, the theme of masculinity, femininity, and codes of conduct from a female perspective and body language. A search for a ground, the story, and the power that hides behind the emotions of jealousy and loneliness and the action-reaction of connectedness.
“étude des hommes” is about fraternization and brotherhood, rapprochement and mutual understanding. A search for codes of behaviors and manners, and the balance of equality in mind, body, and character. Challenging, probing, steadily building up to a physical and emotional trial of strength.
VANDEUTEKOM Collective is a changing collective of performers, led by Patricia van Deutekom, each with their own strength, character and talent. The productions are daring, unpolished, physical, explosive and at the same time vulnerable, poetic and fragile.
The language of the collective is powerful and robust and at the same time vulnerable and formative. A contrast between these extremes equals the contrast between the vigorous, strong elements and the delicateness, sensitivity in the work and performers of the collective. They delve into people’s behavior and how they relate to each other. This forms the basis for the challenging partner work, physical floorwork and forceful identity that are so characteristic of VANDEUTEKOM Collective.
