Die Kunst der Fuge was Bach’s most complex work, he challenged himself to turn every melody upside down, reverse it, and at the same time find counterpoints on the theme, the reversed and the upside down theme.Besides a respect for this method, the structuring and maybe over-structuring of phrases, the choreographer was inspired by the layering, and the other images the Fuge can give – escaping, following, being followed, people and their shadows.One person can have four different personalities – four people can be one person.
